Put That Sh*t Down
A Love Letter to the Overloaded and Undone
On burnout, invisible labor, and the radical choice to stop carrying what was never yours
Dear soft-but-tired soul,
How many things are you holding right now?
Be honest. I don’t mean just what’s on your calendar — I mean what’s on your chest.
That unspoken grief. That constant caretaking. That never-ending mental checklist that hums in the background while you smile through the Zoom screen or cook dinner or answer one more “quick” email.
That, my love, is the emotional load.
And too many of us — especially women, especially Black and Brown folks — are carrying it like it’s a job description.
But what if we didn’t?
The Weight We Can’t See
Emotional labor is the invisible work of keeping everything — and everyone — okay.
It’s remembering birthdays, soothing egos, being the “calm one,” the “strong one,” the “together one.” It’s performing excellence while quietly unraveling.
No one sees it. But we feel it. In our bones. In our migraines. In our tired joy. In the resentment we don’t talk about until it leaks out sideways.
And we tell ourselves, “I can’t drop this. Everything will fall apart.”
But here’s the truth: you’re not supposed to hold it all.
What If You Put It Down?
What would it feel like to stop?
To let the ball drop. To say “no” without guilt. To stop over-functioning in relationships, at work, in your family?
To stop managing other people’s emotions and start honoring your own?
To choose rest not as a reward, but as a right?
A Gathering for the Carriers
That’s why I’m hosting Soul Work & Sazón — a series of conversations that nourish.
The first one is called Put That Sh*t Down — and yes, I mean that literally and lovingly.
We’re gathering in Las Vegas on September 20th for a soul-reset with sisterhood, empanadas, and deep exhale energy. We’ll name what we’ve been carrying, and begin to practice letting go.
This isn’t your typical workshop. It’s a soft landing. A sacred pause. A space to be real about how heavy it’s been — and how ready we are for something different.
You’ll leave with tools, community, and a full belly. But more than that, you’ll leave with permission.
To not do it all.
To take up space in your own healing.
To remember you were never meant to carry it all alone.
Come Through If You’re Tired of:
Feeling like rest is earned
Doing invisible work no one thanks you for
Being “on” all the time
Feeling guilty for needing help or softness
Putting your needs last
We’ll be talking about burnout, boundaries, and the myth of doing it all. And we’ll do it with joy, music, and maybe even a little sass.
If this spoke to you, here’s your invitation:
